A Lemonade Stand happening this Friday in Clark Farms as a fundraiser for childhood cancer
Alex’s Lemonade Stand – June 7, 2013, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
It’s not just ANY lemonade stand, this one is a nationwide effort to raise money for childhood cancer hosted by a local young man… Michael Loomer.
The actual lemonade stand will be held at:
Jola Park (MAP)
Near the corner of Clarke Farms Drive & Motsenbocker Road
Parker, CO 80134
You can also donate online here.
“Hosting a fundraising lemonade stand was the inspired idea of ALSF founder Alexandra “Alex” Scott. True to the spirit of the phrase “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade,” Alex, at age four, held a lemonade stand to help find a cure for all childhood cancers, including her own. Since that time, more than 20,000 Alex’s Lemonade Stands have been held across the country!”
Feel Good Fundraiser June 2013
Either in person and in cash or online, let’s help Michael get to and surpass his goal of $2,500 this year.
You can also donate by Texting Lemonade 111132 to 85944 to make a $10 donation directly to Michael’s stand. Raising awareness and finding a cure for childhood cancer are very important to the Loomer family!
Michael Loomer’s Story
Many of you know that Michael was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, an aggressive and rare childhood cancer, in November 2003 at the tender age of 2 1/2. He was so brave and continues to be brave for others. Today he continues to amaze us with his care and concern for others and his strength. Thankfully Michael’s prognosis was excellent and today he is cancer-free; however, the sad truth is that this is not the case for many children who are diagnosed with childhood cancers. This is why we have chosen to have a lemonade stand again this year to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Alex’s Lemonade Stand is committed to raising money and awareness for pediatric cancer causes, primarily research into new cures and treatments.
