Legend High School’s Annual Craft Fair 2024

They are now accepting registration applications for the 2024 Legend Art & Craft Fair! If you are interested in being a vendor this year, please click here. We have openings for painters, sculptures, glass workers, photographers, woodworkers and all types of crafters.

Reserve your space today! Click the Online Vendor Registration Form link below to get started. The date of submission will determine your priority as we assign booth spaces and accommodate requests for electricity. Returning vendors from 2022 will receive priority booth assignments provided we have received your registration AND payment by May 15, 2023. All applications received after May 15, 2023, are processed on a first come, first served basis. We will not be accepting any payments by check after October 21, 2023.

Castle Rock Starlighting Ceremony

The Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce and Fire Department have been “illuminating” the famous, giant star on top of Castle Rock for 85 years and this annual event is the most anticipated holiday landmark in all of Douglas County each November.

The Castle Rock “Lighting of the Star” has been a community event shared by residents dating back to 1936. The same spirit of volunteerism, generosity, and love of tradition exists today as Castle Rock businesses and residents prepare to celebrate Starlighting downtown on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. 

Step into a Norman Rockwell scene at Starlighting, an annual traditional community ceremony that includes lighting the star on top of Castle Rock followed by a fireworks display. Festivities include caroling, dancing, visiting with Santa Claus, kids activities, nonprofit booths, food vendors, hot chocolate, and the iconic chili supper at the Firehouse.The 2023 Castle Rock Starlighting is November 23, 2024 | Downtown Castle Rock | 2 – 6 pm in Downtown Castle Rock at Historic Wilcox Square.

As one of Castle Rock Chamber’s signature events, this year’s Starlighting celebration will again include hot chocolate, nonprofit booths, strolling entertainers, live entertainment and of course Santa will be present for photos and visits. Don’t forget to enjoy the Rink at the Rock, an outdoor ice skating rink in downtown Castle Rock as well. Join us for Milk and Cookies with Santa at the Parker Fieldhouse, 18700 E Plaza Dr., for an afternoon of crafts, light refreshments and more! Grab your coziest holiday sweaters and begin the festivities with everyone’s favorite jolly man in the bright red suit. Bring little helpers ages 1 month to 11 years, to sit on Santa’s lap and strike a pose for those precious holiday photos that you’ll cherish for years to come. 

So, gather your family Sunday, Dec. 8 and choose between 12:45 or 2 p.m. for a day that’s sure to be merry and bright!

Cost is $17 for youth Parker residents and $19 for non-residents. Register early, space is limited.

Celebrate the Season when Parker Lights the LIGHTS!

Bundle up and bring your family and friends to kick off the holiday season at Parker’s Holiday Tree Lighting on November 29th the Friday after Thanksgiving, 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. in O’Brien Park.

Mayor’s Holiday Lighting

O’Brien Park comes alive for the holidays! Join the Town of Parker for an enchanted evening in O’Brien Park. Gather around the Town Tree and join the Mayor and the Parker Chorale in a Sing-Along to Silent Night to kick off the event. Following Silent Night, the Mayor and Town Council will count down to the Town Tree and Grand Park Lighting. You will love the look and feel as our Town Tree lights up and the park sparkles in white elegance!

Once the park is lit up, it’s time for the fun to begin! Stroll around O’Brien Park and take in the sights of the fun holiday ice sculpture displays following a path to each of the displays.

Along the way, you are bound to run into some holiday characters all of whom will have some sort of story to tell or an activity to show you. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also be in town for this festive evening, as will Elsa and Olaf, and you may even spot the “Elf in a Tree!” While you stroll through the park, you can enjoy tasty food from holiday food vendors.

The O’Brien Park Gazebo will come to life with the sounds of the holidays as the Parker Chorale and our local high school choirs sing some of our favorite holiday carols. The Colorado School of Dance performers will showcase one of their dances on stage as well.

This evening is sure to be filled with wonderful holiday memories.

Ho-Ho-Hold onto your hats for the Parker Hometown Christmas Parade!

On December 7, 2024, the picturesque streets of Downtown Parker will once again come alive with the joyful sounds and sights of the much-anticipated Parker Hometown Christmas Parade and Holiday Market. This cherished community tradition, promises a day filled with holiday cheer, family fun, and community spirit.

The festivities kick off at 9:00 AM with the Holiday Market, running until 2:00 PM. Attendees can indulge in holiday shopping, festive treats, and a unique opportunity to meet and greet Santa’s most legendary helpers—live reindeer! Capture the moment with petting and selfies that will create family memories to last a lifetime.

The highlight of the day, the Parker Hometown Christmas Parade, steps off at 10:00 AM and winds through the heart of the town until 11:30 AM.

Spectators will be treated to vibrant performances by local high school marching bands, creative floats by local businesses and organizations, and an abundance of holiday spirit that only our community can bring.

Hometown Holiday Experience

‘Tis the season to celebrate the holidays! Join us as we kick off this festive season during Thanksgiving weekend. We have so much fun planned Friday, Nov. 29 at the Mayor’s Holiday Lighting and Saturday, Nov. 30 at our Hometown Holiday Kick-off. There will be plenty of opportunities for kids and adults alike to show their holiday spirit right here in Parker. Join the Town of Parker and Presenting Sponsor Audi Parker for an enchanted evening in O’Brien Park. Gather around the park and join the Mayor and the Parker Chorale as they kick off the event with a Silent Night Sing-along! Following Silent Night, the Mayor and Town Council will count down to the Town Tree and Grand Park Lighting. After the lights have been lit, enjoy the sights and sounds of the holiday season with walk-around entertainment, ice sculptures, food vendors, and stage performances from Parker-area high school choirs.

Hometown Holidays Kick-Off Saturday

Usher in the holidays with fun activities and accents to downtown Parker. Enjoy learning about reindeer, sponsor booths and activities with Buddy the Elf and his friends Elsa and Olaf in O’Brien Park on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. Come listen to carolers as they sing your favorite holiday songs around the park. Make sure to bring your kids to ride the Parker Express Train going around O’Brien Park. Then, grab a selfie or a family picture by the Town Tree and view the beautiful park lights. Complete your visit with a leisurely stroll along Mainstreet to Discovery Park, enjoying fun holiday music and décor attractions along the way!

Downtown Parker comes alive during the holiday season! Visit Gingerbread Lane at the Schoolhouse, Polar Bear Ice Land at Discovery Park and Santa’s Workshop at O’Brien Park for a fun family selfie—it might even be a great addition to your holiday cards! The Town has also invited our holiday walk-around characters from Thanksgiving weekend to stick around on Saturdays and Sundays (from noon to 4 p.m.) through Dec. 15.

Where in Downtown Parker is Buddy the Elf?

On Saturdays and Sundays leading up to Christmas, the Town invites you and your family to find one of Santa’s real-life elves around downtown Parker. If you see Buddy the Elf, take a photo of him and post it on the Town’s Facebook page (@TownofParkerCO), sharing where you found him. All submissions will be entered into a prize drawing!

Holidays Home Decorating Contest

‘Tis the season to spread some holiday cheer! The community is invited to celebrate by decorating your front porches, yards, patios or balconies. Unleash your creativity, bring some seasonal joy to your friends and neighbors, and compete to be named one of the best decorated homes in Parker! The Town will produce a virtual map with the locations of all of our registered homes, so you can plan a walk or drive around the community to see the lights and sights.

Swim with Santa

Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus, right down…the waterslide! It’s a Santa-sized pool party with holiday music, festive giveaways, and plenty of splashin’ photo ops with jolly old St. Nick in the Activity Pool.

Turkey Day 5K Fun Run/Walk Parker CO 2024

Get a healthy start to the holidays with Parker Recreation’s Turkey Day 5K and Kick off a happy Thanksgiving with friends, family, and a great workout!

Come and celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday while getting a workout! The course for runners is a loop through the community, while the walkers’ course is an out-and-back on Cherry Creek Regional Trail.

Halloween Safety Tips for Families in Parker CO

It’s that time of year again when the ghosts, goblins, and witches of Parker will be out wandering the sidewalks and streets. The Police Department wants you to keep the following Halloween safety tips in mind if you and your family will be out trick or treating.

Trick or Treating Safety Tips

  • Be sure older children take friends and younger children are accompanied by a trusted adult when trick or treating.
  • Accompany younger children to the door of every home they approach and make sure parents and guardians are familiar with every home and all people from whom they receive treats.
  • Always inspect all treats before allowing children to consume them.
  • Teach children to never enter a home without prior permission from their parents or guardians and never approach a home that is not well-lit both inside and outside.
  • Teach children to never approach a vehicle, occupied or not, unless they know the owner and are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Make sure all children wear reflective clothing or carry a glow stick or flashlight when out at dusk or night- remember it’s very difficult for vehicles to see young children dressed in dark clothing in the evening hours.
  • Remind children to look both ways before crossing the street and use established crosswalks wherever possible.
  • Make sure children are able to see and breathe properly and easily when using facial masks. All costumes and masks should be clearly marked as flame-resistant.
  • Teach children if anyone tries to grab them to make a scene: loudly yell this person is not my father/mother/guardian; and make every effort to get away by kicking, screaming, and resisting.
  • Families may want to organize or attend parties at home, schools, or community centers as a good alternative to trick or treating.

Trunk or Treat off Mainstreet is FREE of charge but you do need to register.

This Halloween tradition that has been run by the Cherry Creek Valley Rotary Club for years is now in all-new hands. The Downtown Business Alliance of Parker is bringing some new ideas to this event that the entire community looks forward to each year.

WHEN & WHERE

Saturday, October 28, 2023

Event time – 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Location – Parker Station Rear Parking Lot

Stop by 1 PM to 2 PM for a Sensory Sensitive Trick or Treat hour. 
Enjoy Trick or Treating until 6 PM. 

Please bring a donation of food or money to help us fill the shelves at Parker Task Force. 

Attendees will pre-register for the event with a timed entry. Timed entry is designed to allow a fun & enjoyable flow throughout the event. All families will receive a swag bag at check-in for the parents with all vendor swag. Kids will get to trick or treat at your trunks.

Mainstreet is frightfully fun with ghouls and goblins throughout the land… so set off on your quest for sweets. 

The PACE Center has authorized its lot to be used which is located at 20000 Pikes Peak Ave, Parker, CO 80138, There is street parking around the PACE Center and down Pikes Peak Court and Pikes Peak Drive. 

H2O’Brien Parking Lot will be open for use. 

Be sure and bring your camera to snap keepsake fall shots of all the fun your family is having and a Trick or Treat bag to hold all your tasty treasures.

Our favorite moment from past Trick or Treat off Mainstreet: Thriller Flash Mob, watch for rumors of the time to be revealed on social media.

The decades-old Trick or Treat on Mainstreet event has been a tradition for lots of families in Parker but with the growth and traffic concerns changes are being made. Not only will the event be OFF Mainstreet this year, but it’s also happening the Saturday before Halloween instead of on the date. I think that’s a great change. This part of the Halloween celebration will be in the Parker Station parking lot.

They are now registering vendors for the event. Please email admin@DowntownParker.com for more information.

Adults are encouraged to dress up and walk up and down Mainstreet using the tunnel that goes underneath Parker Rd. There will be Music on Mainstreet and all the bars on the route will also have drink specials we encourage all Zombies & friends to stop in.

Participants are encouraged to use the tunnel under Parker Road for the safety of Pedestrians and Vehicles.

TRUNK OR TREAT OFF MAINSTREET VENDOR INFO

1 – WHAT IS THE TRUNK OR TREAT EVENT?

Our Trunk or Treat off Mainstreet event is a Parker Tradition with a spin. We have the Rear Parking Lot off Parker Station as a secure safe location for children & families to come trick or treat, hear music, see entertainment and just have fun. 

Trunk or Treat is easier on our Vendors as you will be decorating your vehicle versus setting up a booth. Easier set up and take down plus fun for everyone. 

2- WHAT IS MY COMMITMENT AS A VENDOR?

  • Bring your Car/Truck/Van and decorate the trunk for Halloween
  • Bring enough goodies to hand out to 1,500 kids (we’re limiting entries to 1500 children per Parker Police request)
  • Some examples: Candy, Rub on Tattoos, Stickers, Bracelets, Glow sticks, bouncy balls, etc.  
  • As a Sponsor, we are giving you an opportunity to place your own items in the Parents Swag Bags that each family will receive at check-in.
  • Examples are business cards, literature, coupons, specials, swag etc.
  • Cost for a vendor spot is $25 for DBA Members or $40 for non-DBA members

Overall we priced out this event & it should cost a vendor total of around $500.

We will be taking pictures of each vendors decorated trunk and will be having a contest for the best decorated trunk. The winner will be selected by our committee and will receive a gift card to one of our local restaurants. SO bring your best!

The finalists and winners will be posted onto our social media accounts with the hashtag #TrunkOrTreatParker

Halloween is a fun holiday for humans, but there are some things you should do to make sure it doesn’t get scary for pets. Here are some tips that will help keep pets safe:

  • Protect your pets on Halloween by keeping them indoors. A pet that’s out at night with trick-or-treaters might get spooked by noises and costumes, which could cause him to run away.

  • Cats should be kept indoors at all times, and if you have a solid black or solid white cat, you should be especially careful about keeping it indoors on Halloween. Some people are superstitious about cats and may try to scare or harm them.
  • Keep pets confined and away from the door while you’re greeting trick-or-treaters to prevent them from darting outdoors.

Halloween Safety for Dogs

  • Your dog may feel that his territory is being invaded by the constant onslaught of visitors. Keep your dog in a secluded area of the house to help him stay calm and prevent him from growling or possibly biting your visiting ghouls and goblins.
  • Keep Halloween candy out of your pet’s reach because it can make your pet sick. In fact,  chocolate and raisins can be fatal to dogs. Instead, celebrate Halloween with goodies made especially for pets, like dog biscuits or cat treats.

All Colorado dogs are Bronco Fans so if you need a costume, check out some great options here or these Fun dog costumes here. Who doesn’t love dressing up their four-legged friend for the holiday? Here are some Halloween costume safety tips to prevent a frightfully dangerous night:

  • Don’t restrict your pet’s ability to walk and sit down comfortably. If your dog or cat looks miserable, they probably are.
  • Don’t make your pet wear a mask that covers their eyes, ears or nose.
  • Don’t put your pet in a costume that makes it difficult to breathe. This is especially important for flat-nosed dogs such as bulldogs, pugs, Boston terriers and Pekinese.
  • Always supervise your dog while in costume so they don’t chew or eat any costume parts.

‘Top Dog” Eileen Proctor, Denver’s newest pet lifestyle expert offered some statistics and do’s and don’ts of dressing pets in Halloween costumes.

  • According to the National Retail Federation, 15% of Americans plan to deck out their dogs this Halloween
  • Americans will spend nearly $300 million on costumes for pets this year

To make sure dogs are safe and comfortable in their costumes:

  • Avoid masks that cover the face and ears
  • Mobility/freedom of motion is essential
  • Costumed pets should be supervised at all times
  • Help pets ease into the act of dressing up in the few days leading up to Halloween
  •  If your pet looks miserable, they probably are. Opt for a festive bandana instead.
